Social Networking and Digital Literacy in the Classroom, T&L 900

This online one-credit course will provide hands-on experience using best practice technology resources that teachers will be able to directly add to their individual classroom curriculum. The online format will feature six lessons and parallel modules focusing on digital books, digital writing and social networking tools. The networking tools will include web-based teacher resources and strategies for increased engagement aligned to standards. All facets of the course focus on best practice instruction and research based approaches to teaching. All levels of technology experience are encouraged to take this course. The instructor will differentiate the instruction to meet the participant's level of computer and online expertise. This course has been pre-approved by the ND Department of Public Instruction for renewal of Title Reading I Credentials.

About Your Instructor

Paula Rogers Paula Rogers

Paula Rogers has been a frequent presenter and mentor in the field of Title I and reading. She has been teaching for over 35 years in North Dakota and doing staff development for 20 years. As a Title I Reading and Math Specialist, Mrs. Rogers is currently teaching Title I K-8 in Langdon, North Dakota. She has a master's degree in Technology Education from Lesley University in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
