Interactive Whiteboards, iPads & Web 2.0 Tools, T&L 900

This online one credit course will provide hands-on experience using valuable web-based resources that teachers will be able to immediately implement into their curriculum. Participants will need access to an interactive whiteboard, iPad, and headset to have a quality learning experience. In addition, participants will need a web cam or built in camera to Skype with the instructor. Participants will discuss and explore current practices and experiment with new technologies such as interactive whiteboards, iPads and web 2.0 tools. Several web 2.0 tools, such as Skype, Voice Threads and Jing, will be used as course communication tools. Discover the most recent technologies and learn how 21st Century tools can transform teaching and learning and expand the capability to differentiate instruction. All facets of the course will focus on best practice instruction and research based approaches to teaching.

Reading in the content area is key to the resources in each module. All levels of technology experience are encourage to take this K-12 course. The instructor will differentiate the instruction to meet the participant's level of computer and online expertise. This course has been pre-approved by the ND Department of Public Instruction for the renewal of Title Reading I Credentials.

About Your Instructor

Paula Rogers Paula Rogers

Paula Rogers has been a frequent presenter and mentor in the field of Title I and reading. She has been teaching for over 35 years in North Dakota and doing staff development for 20 years. As a Title I Reading and Math Specialist, Mrs. Rogers is currently teaching Title I K-8 in Langdon, North Dakota. She has a master's degree in Technology Education from Lesley University in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
