About Us
UND Professional Development for Educators provides innovative teaching and learning opportunities for 21st century educators. Through workshops, online courses and conferences, educators receive the professional development they need to excel in the classroom.
As part of the University of North Dakota's Division of Continuing Education, we annually serve more than 6,000 school administrators, teachers and other school professionals.
Professional Development Credits
- Professional development credits (sometimes referred to as non-degree graduate credits) are earned by K-12 educators for re-licensing and for lane changes on school district salary schedules.
- All professional development credits are approved by the appropriate academic college and department at the University of North Dakota.
- In order for a course to be approved for professional development credits, it must be taught by an instructor with a master’s degree or higher.
- One credit is awarded for every 15 hours of direct instructional contact time.
- At UND, professional development credits cannot be applied toward any degree program.
Customized Teacher Professional Development
We will work with your school district or consortium to develop customized offerings that maximize opportunities for professional learning while minimizing time away from school and home.
Variety - Workshops ranging from reading, writing, technology, curriculum mapping and study groups are tailored to fit your specific professional development goals.
Flexibility - Online courses are accessible anywhere, anytime. Face-to-face workshops can be set up in a traditional 2-day format or in short courses that take place throughout the school year.
Adaptability - Your school district’s teacher in-services may be approved for professional development credit, or you may work with us to develop new models that meet your needs.
